I had the opportunity to meet Henk back in and had a drink with him after the first Global Outlook event we organised in Dublin, in a local pub where colleagues go.

I congratulated him about the way in which he spoke that night and delivered his messages to the audience, and I shared with him I was completing a public speaking training in Dublin as I truly appreciated professionals like him communicating so brilliantly and I wanted to improve my presentation skills. He showed a lot of interest in what I mentioned, gave me some tips and asked me to let him know how I will be doing in the future.

It was a very nice gesture that I appreciated and took with me that day. He was an excellent person and professional who was always available to support us with our events and clients. He will be missed by all of us in the Private Bank in Dublin. May I pass on my deepest condolences to Henk's family - a very much larger than life character who was extremely well thought of within and outside of Barclays - amazing to see his influence by the huge number of tributes paid.

I had the pleasure of meeting Henk in person whenever he came to Dublin to impress clients and colleagues with his incredible handle on the global economy and markets, all delivered in such an engaging way, due to his sunny personality. Clients could not believe he could recall all those stats off the top of his head.
